Midwest Stroll Competition

The Midwestern Region of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. is hosting the 2023 Stroll-Off Competition! Chapters from all across the Region will be competing with their best moves for a chance to win $1000!

The best of the best will be on display including a few of the D9 Sororities! The event will take place on Friday, March 24, 2023 starting at 9:00 PM EST in Kojo Kamua A on the 4th floor of the new Hilton Columbus Downtown.

Afterwards, the Region will host the official AfterParty taking place at the same location starting promptly at 11:00 PM EST! Sounds from DJ Sneaks! You will not want to miss this!

The stroll-off competition will showcase College Brothers demonstrating their agility, creativity and understanding of rhythm and dance as they show precision, synchronization, originality, and showmanship.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Team must be all male, must be 5 or more on teams. No more then 10 brothers on a team. Chapters can combine and compete, but prize monies will be split.
2. Each participant must be a member of an Active member Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., and registered for the Midwestern Regional Convention.

GUIDELINES

• All stroll teams must have a uniform or dress that is tasteful and becoming of our fraternity.
• All music is to be free from explicit, profane, and vulgar lyrics. Please be prepared to provide your music.
• No profane or vulgar gestures.
• Entire routine cannot exceed 5 minutes, including intros and exits.
• Stroll performance should showcase our organization.
• Slow or up tempo.
• Please be prepared to provide your music or mixes.

JUDGING CRITERIA

All performances will be judged on the following criteria:

• Overall Presentation (5 points)
• Show’s Theme (5 points)
• Precision (5 points)
• Difficulty (5 points)
• Uniform/Appearance (5 points)
• Synchronization (5 points)
• Crowd Participation (5 points)

Total Points: 35

**PRIZES: $1000.00? (Will be divided if 2 college chapter combine)

**Winners will compete at the General Convention in Dallas in July.

The General Convention will have a STEPSHOW, no stroll off.  We will be disqualified if we stroll.
